ZWERM @ OORtreders - Museum of the Moon

Kerk Neerpelt
Op vrijdag 21 oktober strijkt de maan neer in Neerpelt. Museum of the Moon is een gigantische lichtgevende maan van de Britse kunstenaar Luke Jerram. Het kunstwerk zal door de straten van Neerpelt zweven, van de kerk tot aan Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof, terwijl de epische soundtrack van componist Dan Jones weerklinkt. Als afsluiter brengt het elektrisch gitaarkwartet ZWERM een performance op het dak van Dommelhof. Ze laten zich hiervoor inspireren door Pink Floyds meesterwerk The Dark Side of the Moon. Een magische optocht voor jong en oud!

Sergey Khismatov, Alexander Khubeev, Alex Nadzharov and Marina Poleukhina are inspired by the lifework of Lesaserma Pokhunakhis (1926-1991), and together create a remarkable, unsettling and fascinating performance about the work of a forgotten woman who knew Xenakis, created an Siberian Arte Povera style and influenced Abramovic. Aton'&Armide: wooden jubilee

What started as a duo focussing on contemporary music soon grew into a collective. After many creations, collaborations and musical theatre we joined forces again as a duo for our first CD-recording (Antarctica/Penguin).
During the last 3 days we've recorded Jean-Luc Fafchamps' 'Trois chants pour mieux voir' for cello and prepared piano, and Daan Janssens' '(...nada)' for cello, piano and electronics in the simply incredible Studio 1 at Flagey, Brussels.
In August we'll be heading for Brive-la-Gaillarde (F) to record Claude Debussy's 'Sonate pour violoncelle' with a gut-stringed cello, on the maestro's very own Blüthner.

The Nadar Ensemble celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2016! Since its very first concert 10 years ago, Nadar Ensemble has developed and cherished strong, long-term relationships with selected composers throughout a series of commissions and performances.
To celebrate the ensemble’s 10th anniversary, several of them have composed, edited and mastered these ”birthday songs” found exclusively on this record.
They are tokens of invaluable artistic and personal collaborations and friendships, consolidating a shared past while at the same time firmly pointing towards an exciting future. We are very happy and proud to share these little, unique treasures with you. New work by Beil, Gorlinsky, Kreidler, Maierhof, Prins, Sánchez-Chiong/JSX,Schubert, Schüttler. The gorgeous artwork and design is done by visual artist Joachim Devillé.

Zwerm - Electric Consort: Quatre garçons amoureux de la Renaissance
Un côté planant
Parfois, la musique, au ton expérimental, a un petit côté planant. Un frottement de cordes, un pincement, un « accident » volontaire, constituent des ornements et la pédale, quelque part, joue le rôle de la basse continue.
À un moment donné, les musiciens, délaissant leur guitare, se réunissent autour d'une table basse sur laquelle sont posés bon nombre d'appareils et des partitions. Des petites boîtes de couleurs, s'échappent des sons qui semblent sortis d'un orgue baroque. C'est tout à fait charmant. Non seulement la musique est belle, mais en plus on entend clairement le claquement des registres de l'instrument. Pour un peu, on se croirait dans l'ombre d'une chapelle ancienne où chante un Dallam plus vrai que nature. Puis, reprenant leur guitare, les musiciens empruntent un autre chemin, plus solide, plus exubérant. Là encore, il suffit d'un rien, d'un grattement sur les cordes, d'une inclination d'un instrument pour fabriquer un son nouveau, quelque chose qui donne du corps à la musique.

La danse pointe ici et là. Et puis, par deux fois (In Nomine I et II), la voix d'une comédienne se détache sur celle des instruments. C'est d'une grande émotion. Les musiciens néerlandais ont fait, mercredi soir, la preuve qu'on peut, tout comme le fait, dans son domaine, l'Arpeggiata de Cristina Pluhar, donner un ton nouveau à ces musiques nées il y a longtemps en leur gardant leur saveur originelle.

In FEU danst de getalenteerde Argentijnse Cecilia Lisa Eliceche de rol van Antigone, Sophocles’ verpersoonlijking van het verzet en het eerste personage in de theatergeschiedenis dat een solo-rol opeiste tegenover het koor. Choreograaf Etienne Guilloteau plaatst haar tegenover de gitaristen van het Belgisch-Nederlandse kwartet Zwerm.
FEU toont onze innerlijke strijd tussen passie en rede…

Besides - Paradis - recensies
Hof Van Eede zet dankzij en samen met LOD een heel schone, verrassende stap in hun taal. De tere compositie van Smetryns dwingt hen tot een ontwapenende tederheid die ze nog niet eerder aanraakten. De muziek geeft hun taal een diepere gloed. Van den Eede staat sterker want brozer dan ooit op de scène, geflankeerd door die potige Van der Ven die per woord meer energie in het spel pompt. Energie die Van den Eede vervolgens terugkaatst met een koket komisch antwoord of een blik vol onthutsing. Wat een samenspel.
De vertellers komen, na veel genoeglijke woorden en muziek, uiteindelijk uit bij de kracht van de stilte, in de muziek, in de woordenstroom, in de zegging, de vertolking, in het spel, in het spelen van het spel. De stilte in de kunsten. En dan denk je aan ‘De stilte van het licht’ van wijlen Joost Zwagerman. Paradis is een productie die besproken en opgehemeld had kunnen worden door Zwagerman, een productie die perfect zou passen in de tentoonstelling Silence out Loud over de stilte in de kunst en over de kunst van de stilte.
En net uit die ironie bloeit het kleine wonder van deze voorstelling op. Uit alle gekissebis over kunst, muziek of fotografie ontstaat langzaam toch zoiets als poëzie. Hof van Eede prikt de rouw niet vast als een mooie dode vlinder, maar laat hem af en aan fladderen. Ongrijpbaar als de dood zelf.
Ook zelf is Paradis niet voor één gat te vangen. De voorstelling treft door niet te willen treffen, eert het heilige muziektheater door net die heiligheid onderuit te halen. Samen geeft dat een meesterproef in suggestiviteit. Metamuziektheater voelde zelden zo fijnbesnaard.
